The CreARTe Foundation is seeking a dedicated Legal Advisor to join our Board of Directors. This role provides legal guidance to support governance, compliance, and strategic decision-making. The Legal Advisor will help ensure that the Foundation operates in accordance with applicable laws and regulations while advancing its mission.
Provide legal counsel on nonprofit governance, compliance, and regulatory matters.
Review and advise on contracts, agreements, and organizational policies.
Support intellectual property management and risk mitigation strategies.
Offer guidance on partnerships, collaborations, grants, and funding agreements.
Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person) and participate in strategic discussions.
Law degree (LL.B., J.D., or equivalent) with experience in nonprofit law, corporate governance, or intellectual property.
Proven ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks affecting nonprofits in Canada.
Interest in arts, sciences, and innovation is highly desirable.
Serve a 1-year term (renewable).
Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person).
Actively participate in board discussions and organizational decision-making.
Support the Foundation’s mission and contribute expertise to advance strategic goals.
